Our Heritage: The Moroder Family Legacy
For generations, the Moroder family has been welcoming guests to Ortisei. With passion and dedication, we manage the Appartments Scurcià and the “Baita Scurcià” to ensure an unforgettable stay. Our philosophy combines traditional hospitality with modern comfort.
The Moroder family has a rich history in Ortisei, deeply rooted in hospitality and the arts. Our ancestors operated the “Pension Moroder Caffè,” a beloved establishment that served as a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. The building still stands today, with the original angel sculpture adorning its façade, a testament to our enduring presence in the community.
Artistic Contributions
Over the years, the Moroder family has been instrumental in shaping the cultural and artistic landscape of Val Gardena. Notably, Josef Moroder-Lusenberg (1846–1939), a renowned painter and sculptor, contributed significantly to the region’s artistic heritage. His works continue to inspire and reflect the rich traditions of our Ladin roots.
Continuing the Tradition
Today, we honor this legacy by offering our guests an authentic experience that blends traditional Ladin hospitality with modern comforts. At Appartments Scurcià and the “Baita Scurcià,” we strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere where history and contemporary amenities coexist harmoniously.
